Ece Gürel, who was found alive after being lost in Belgrad Forest for days, received bad news from the hospital where she was urgently taken. Ece Gürel, whose heart stopped once during treatment and was revived and intubated, lost her battle for life. Gürel’s body was taken from the Forensic Medicine Institution by her relatives.
The search for Gürel, who left home on March 2 Sunday to go to Belgrad Forest and could not be reached since then, yielded results on the 4th day.
The 4-person agile force and 12-member civil society organization teams conducting search activities in the forest area found Gürel sleeping at 01:15.
Gürel, who was awakened after a while, was reported to be conscious. The woman, who spoke on the phone with her husband Sezer Gürel, was later taken to the ambulance. It was determined that Gürel, who was slightly injured, was treated by health teams as a precaution and then taken to the hospital. Ece Gürel, who lost her battle for life at the hospital, passed away.
As Gürel’s body was being taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution, the prosecutor’s report on the cause of death included the following statement:
”When the deceased was found, the body temperature was 25 degrees in a hypothermic state, he had a heart attack when brought to the hospital, he was revived as a result of intervention, he continued to be treated in intubation, internal organ bleeding began around 16:00 on 06.03.2025, and he passed away around 03:40 on 07.03.2025, the death examination process was completed, all medical intervention-related documents were sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution for the definitive cause of death.”
While Gürel’s father shed tears in front of the hospital for a long time, relatives and police officers consoled the grieving family.
After the autopsy of Gürel at the Forensic Medicine, her body was taken by her relatives. Gürel’s body will be buried after the funeral prayer to be held after the afternoon prayer.
